With a focus on Switzerland, at this year's conference of the Arbeitskreis Provenienzforschung eV in the Kunstmuseum Basel, we want to present the four exhibitions taking place simultaneously in Zurich, Basel and Bern on the relocation of cultural assets from colonial and Nazi contexts.

The question of how provenance research can be made visible and communicated is answered here in a multifaceted way. We want to take up the increasing debates, especially in the media, about "flight goods" and the associated "Swiss responsibility". For specific research, Switzerland-based experts present current projects and research options. In addition, short reports by the Board of Management and the members are included.

In the concluding panel discussion, Swiss representatives from museums, jurisprudence, politics and trade will comment on the transparent handling of collection history and requests for information against the background of current developments in the country.

• Will there be a new museum law?
• If so, what content?
• Will a commission be established?
• Who decides about it and what task will it have?
The discussions show the pros and cons of various decisions and hopefully lead to lively discussions.

At the end of the day, tables are reserved in various locations in Basel for a joint dinner from 7 p.m. (consumption at your own expense). We ask that you register at the various restaurants.

On the following day, colleagues from Zurich and Bern offer free guided tours for the conference participants through the exhibitions there. Registrations are made here via:
• Bern: Monika Steinmann Meier, provenienzforschung[at] kunstmuseumbern.ch
• Zurich: Judith Affolter, “Wege der Kunst”

The conference is planned as a face-to-face event. The organization team is monitoring the situation surrounding the SARS-CoV-2 virus and any resulting restrictions in the area of events and international travel. The organizers reserve the right to alternatively hold the conference in a purely digital format or to postpone it and to communicate this at short notice. We hope that everything can take place as planned.
