In 2022 the Klimt Foundation initiates and organizes on the occasion of the 160th birthday of Gustav Klimt (1862–1918) in cooperation with the Leopold Museum, Vienna the first international symposium on the world-renowned artist. The conference will presumably be held annually at different Klimt locations and invites both, speakers and the audience, to dis- cover new perspectives in the oeuvre of the Art Nouveau artist.

VILLA PAULICK

The first Gustav Klimt Symposium will take place at the historistic Villa Paulick in Seewalchen in Upper Austria, built in 1877. The Attersee was Klimt’s beloved summer destination, the villa from August 1900 an inspiring meeting point for him and his lifetime companion Emilie Flöge. On the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the Klimt Museum in Schörfling, which is managed by the Klimt Foundation, selected areas of this architectural jewel will be accessible in the course of guided tours.
