International Conferences

A major international conference reconsidering the role of the so-called "Monuments Men" in the Allied and German armed forces during World War II. How important were these military units in a conflict characterized by aerial warfare and strategic bombing? Was their role limited simply to recording the damage caused by the fighting and modern technology, or could they implement strategies for prevention and protection? Were they non-partisan or did they subscribe to a prevailing political ideology? The conference aims to answer these questions by analyzing the context from different national and disciplinary perspectives.
