Leonid Gechtoff (1883-1941) was a Russian émigré to the US in 1922. After his death his wife, Ethel Gechtoff, set up the East and West Gallery in San Francisco. The archive includes gallery records of the East and West Gallery, Ethel Gechtoff's personal papers, photographs of Leonid Gechtoff's landscape paintings, and a scrapbook (c. 1918-1929).
