Description
FIMA is an association of 1200 members governed by an elective body consisting
of a council, a Board, a President, and a Secretary. Because it is the only
organisation that is obliged to provide a certificate of authenticity and of
unblemished provenance in sales, FIMA offers the best guarantee of authenticity
and honesty in the purchase and sale of antiquities in Italy. An affiliate member
of CINOA, the International Confederation of Art Dealers, FIMA is also committed
to collaborate with the Italian authorities in attempting to recover stolen
works. It publishes a magazine bi-annually entitled 'Fimantiquari-Arte Viva'.
The association's website includes member listings by region, recent magazines, codes of conduct, a list of council members, exhibitions it supports, restoration work funded, news about stolen art and a helpful search engine.
