Musées Nationaux Récupération (MNR) Catalogue
In accordance with the Decree of 30 September 1949, the Office des Biens Privés (Office of Private Possessions) consigned to the Direction des Musées de France (DMF) art objects recuperated from Germany at the end of the Second World War, the rightful owners of which had not been identified. The Decree stipulated that the MNRs (Musées Nationaux Récupération or, in English: National Museums of Recovered Artwork) should be listed in "temporary", separate inventories from those of state-owned collections. The DMF has published on the Embassy of France website an online catalogue of the MNRs, numbering circa 2000 items.
