Lynn H Nicholas, an independent researcher, is the author of The Rape of Europa: The Fate of Europe's Treasures in the Third Reich and World War II 1994. She was on the organizing committee of the Bard Graduate Center symposium "The Spoils of War" in 1995 and was a presenter at the Washington Conference on Holocaust Era Assets in 1998. She has served on numerous panels and boards dealing with recuperation issues and as an expert witness and consultant in various restitution cases.
