The US Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit issued its ruling in Cassirer v. Kingdom of Spain and the Thyssen-Bornemisza Collection Foundation on 12 August 2010.  The court ruled that the plaintiff, Claude Cassirer, was entitled to sue Spain in the US courts ie that the court has subject matter jurisdiction over the action as to both Spain and the Foundation.
