Description
Yad Vashem is the centre for documentation and memorialisation of the Holocaust and its victims. The Archive collection is the largest repository of material on the Holocaust in the world and includes documents, photographs and testimonies. The Library contains over 87,000 titles and periodicals. The Encyclopedia of Communities (Pinkasei Hakehillot) documents each town and community destroyed or damaged by the Nazis.

Tracing services: Yad Vashem contains a number of resources for tracing victims and survivors of the Holocaust. These include:

Archive collection: Access to some of the archives is restricted, and not all the collection is catalogued. A computerised catalogue is currently being created. Finding aids are available at Yad Vashem for most of the 220 record groups in the collection. The record groups are listed online at http://www1.yadvashem.org/about_yad/index_about_yad.html and include wartime documentation from each European country.
