Description
William
Suhr emigrated to the United States from Berlin where he trained, to work at the
Detroit Institute of Arts in 1927 under Wilhelm Valentiner. In 1933 he became
restorer to the Frick Collection. At the 1939 New York World Fair Suhr was Chief
Conservator.
After World War II he worked for Rosenberg, Stiebel and other
dealers in New York.
