National Library of the Republic of Albania (Biblioteka Kombetare)

Description
Albanian World War II archival records are kept at the Albanian National Archives and the National Library in Tirana. The National Library (Biblioteka Kombetare) is the main Albanian institution of book preservation and dissemination. It holds archives of Albanian publications (61,190 book and periodical titles, collected from 1948 onwards) and holds almost a million volumes in its library stacks. The National Library is open to the public. Researchers may view the wartime archival records by appointment, by submitting a formal request to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or to the Embassy of Albania in each country. The National Library has not yet automated its catalogue.
